Who is Franco Morone
Francesco “Franco” Morone (Lanciano, 6 June 1956) is an Italian guitarist, teacher, composer and arranger, expert in fingerstyle technique.
He started playing the guitar at the age of 12, publishing his first book in 1986 “My Acoustic Blues Guitar.”
He worked as a journalist for the magazines Guitar Club, Chitarre, Acoustic Guitar.
He is the author of Cds, books, and videos based on his compositions, on traditional Italian music, jazz, blues, and Celtic music.
He received in the United States the independent music GPJ Folk Awards for “Italian Fingerstyle Guitar” as the best album for ‘solo guitar’ category.
Where he performs and teaches
He performs in Europe, the United States, and Japan. In Italy, he founded an educational center together with Raffaella Luna in Marche region called “Acoustic Guitar Workshops.” Last 13 years he is leading the annual guitar course in Malosco, Trentino.

He shared the stage with artists like John Renbourn, Leo Kottke, Tim Sparks, Alex De Grassi, and many others. He performs as a soloist, or in a duo with the singer Raffaella Luna with Italian traditional and original songs repertoire.
His repertoire has solid foundations in blues, jazz, Celtic music, and Italian folk, languages absorbed with continued researches and absolute competence with a personal and recognizable sound.
